Gynaecological Health, Fertility and Pregnancy
After completing an additional postgraduate diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at The Integrated College of Chinese medicine I am a specialist in treating people for issues with their menstrual cycle, fertility (both with and without IVF), pregnancy and throughout menopause.

Menstrual Cycle
I support people to manage a variety of menstrual cycle problems such as heavy, painful periods, PMS mood swings and exhaustion and very light or irregular periods. I also see many people with Endometriosis, Adenomyosis and PCOS. By looking at all menstrual symptoms alongside any other health concerns I can design bespoke treatments to help with issues throughout your cycle. I treat people from when they first have a menstrual cycle right through the menopause.

Fertility
Trying to get pregnant can be an emotional time. It can create feelings of fear, worry, anxiety and frustration. Acupuncture can help people move more smoothly through this time even when it feels overwhelming. I support people who are trying to get pregnant naturally or, through any assisted reproduction such as ICSI and IVF. Acupuncture has been shown to have a significant treatment effect on live birth rates, indicating that acupuncture may complement an IVF or ICSI cycle. I also use treatment to manage the side effects and emotional impact of hormonal treatments.

Pregnancy
Acupuncture can ease nausea, vomiting, heartburn, constipation, improve sleep, reduce aches and pains including pelvic girdle pain. and help lower blood pressure. Whilst having acupuncture it is important to also be seen regularly by a midwife throughout your pregnancy. I am happy to work with your midwife to help you manage any concerns
Acupuncture in the last four weeks of pregnancy has been shown to help prepare the body for effective labour. Research shows that it can reduce the length of the
labour, decrease the need for pain relief and medical intervention. Acupuncture can be used to optimise the position of your
baby. The best time for turning a baby that is lying breech or back to back is between 34-36 weeks.

Menopause
Some people sail happily through menopause and barely notice it but for others it can be a time of difficult and debilitating symptoms. I support people to manage hot flushes, exhaustion, bladder problems, brain fog, headaches and a whole raft of other unexpected symptoms. By working with your body I can help you to navigate this difficult time. I support people both with and without HRT. I am also able to give other lifestyle guidance to help make the transition into a new beginning a little smoother.
